The perfect website starts with good design, mixes it up with simple, flexible web layouts and easy-to-modify stylesheets, and finishes clean with reliable functionality. I can take your Photoshop designs and turn them into beautiful layouts in clean HTML/XHTML and accessible, cross-browser-compatible CSS. My highly-readable code is condensed and neatly commented, ready for you (or your client) to drop in content.

You give me a finished design, keeping in mind:

• The only acceptable format is Adobe Photoshop, CS/CS2. (.PSD)

• Your design should fit most browser resolutions, between 800x600 and 1024x768. (Just a guideline. I'm always excited to work with challenging, creative layouts!)
• Use as few layers as possible. Feel free to send me a developer's copy in which you've merged your many design layers into as few layers as you think I might need.
• Line up guides against side navigation areas or major content areas.
• Include a brief "designer's eye" description of the site, such as where content should go, link and text colors, font preferences, or just anything else I should know. (Sending a PDF or JPG of the design is helpful, too.) Remember, sharing is caring!

You get a complete web layout:

• HTML/XHTML files, commented for clarity.
• CSS files, optionally separated by colors, schemes and more!
• All files validated as needed.

On X/HTML, Validation and Savory Markup

While validation often serves as a useful starting point, it's hardly the holy grail of a good site. I believe in following best practices and producing clean, readable markup that you or your client can safely edit the content of. So, if you need validation and a happy stamp from the W3C, you've come to the right place.
